From BIM to Marketing: PART 4 – Creation of materials and ambiances
In the last episode you learned how to automate the preparation of your model for marketing purposes. Before turning it into an interactive experience, you have to create everything for staging the experience – the decor so to speak. The Marketing Content Artist role gives you access to all the applications you need to create a lifelike environment for your product:
- Create materials with Rendering Scene Design
- Create ambiences with Ambiance Studio
- Add human beings to your scene with Human Animation Studio
- Add a realistic environment with Planets Studio
The building looks nice, but empty. It lacks furniture and colors.
We create all the furniture with Generative Shape Design, which is a modeling application available in the Interior Designer role.
Then, for a more realistic rendering, we create materials in Rendering Scene Design.
In addition, we apply each of these materials to our furniture.
To add life to this office, we add humans. Human Animation Studio provides a catalogue of humans including postures and animations.
Finally, to influence the overall luminosity of the scene, an ambiance in Ambiance Studio was created. The application comes with a default ambiance catalogue. Your own ambiances can be created from your HDRI images.
In this example experience, we can step outside the building. Therefore, a city model was added in which to insert my campus.
Converter for FBX
A 3DEXCITE artist has previously modeled the environment of this campus. The format of the model is an FBX. Using the Converter for FBX role, it can import an FBX inside the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
There is a second option to insert a realistic environment. The Planets Studio application allows a whole planet to be inserted into your experiences. Just place your product on the planet and you get a realistic ocean, vegetation and a night and day cycle.
Thanks to the Marketing Content Artist role, you have all the tools to create an experience with a realistic, beautiful and immersive environment
We will see in the next month’s article how to use the Marketing Experience Artist role to create:
- an immersive and collaborative interactive experience
- a high quality video
