As we moved into Day 3, the last business day of this edition, Dassault Systemes team too got to the business end of this event.
As a recognized solution provider in the Aerospace industry, Dassault Systèmes was invited to the executive networking dinner on the 20th and 21st organized by the Aero India organizing team and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). We were delighted to have the opportunity to establish a deeper connect with the Aerospace industry fraternity and policy think-tank over the course of these two executive networking Dinner event.
While Day 1 and Day 2 had the inaugural and SME/start-up themes respectively for Dassault Systemes wherein we had the opportunity interact with many customers from these segments, day 3 was the day of OEMs. Our team had series of executive meetings with some of the large Indian and global OEMs to further strengthen our existing relationships in India, and forge pathways towards new ones. Our Business Transformation Leader Mr. Kothapalle REDDY was present at our booth for one-on-one sessions, discussing how Dassault Systèmes could digitally transform existing infrastructures for Aerospace companies.
Another important aspect of our success in India is our strong Partner ecosystem. We leveraged day 3 to liaise many of our partners to strategize engagement models.
Sopra Steria, a European digital transformation company with a growing Indian presence dropped by our booth for first-hand trials of our 3DEXPERIENCE platform. “We have trained our designers with the 3DEXPERIENCE to be ready to support the new project developments in our companies,” said Laurent Tomas, Digital Product Management, PLM Business Services, at Sopra Steria, in appreciation of our efforts.
We also met with several members from Indian PSUs; discussions were held regarding the potential scope of simulation in Additive Manufacturing and how Dassault Systèmes could help customers realize these goals. “The aircraft production cycle has to be cut down to less than 5 years and engineering simulation is going to play a key role,” a customer commented.
In order to speed up innovation in this manner (one of our key themes), it is important to accurately simulate components before the final launch. That’s where our 3DEXPERIENCE platform can play a vital role in helping visualize manufacturing processes and in achieving digital continuity by linking several disciplines. “Such a proper bonding across the disciplines will surely help to achieve 100% in the first attempt,” a customer mentioned, stressing the criticality of tools that can enable “First Time Right for Flight.”
All of these ideas were at the forefront during the six meetups with India’s leading Aerospace magazines. Patrick FARDEAU and Ravikiran POTHUKUCHI shared their perspectives on the country’s on-going ‘Industry Renaissance’ in manufacturing and how Dassault Systèmes hopes to contribute. “We are seeing the next generation in the Indian market now adopt this platform. We believe that very soon this will accelerate also the adoption in the overall engineering in the Aerospace market. Let’s continue this journey towards a one-billion-strong opportunity,” Patrick FARDEAU said.
With that, we closed Day 3, bringing our series of business solution demonstrations to an end. This year’s edition brought us a one-of-its-kind forum which is the catalyst for a new era of innovation, collaboration, and enlightened thinking in Aerospace manufacturing. We look forward to Aero India 2021 which, we believe, will further expand and extend this movement towards positive change and meaningful disruption in India’s Aerospace industry.
