The sports world (and tennis world!) enters the connected clothing era with a T-Shirt prototype designed by Polo Ralph Lauren. This highly technical sports piece of clothe, which is in its terminal test time, equip team ball boys at the US Open 2014 that takes place currently in New York as well as some players, who try it during their workouts.
A cloth with advanced bio-sensor that tracks activity, stress, physical and physiological condition that helps to get an optimized control of the body during sports training.
Named “Tech Polo Shirt,” this wearable tech has advanced bio-sensor that tracks activity, stress, physical and physiological condition that helps to get an optimized controlof the body during sports training. The Shirt was developed by Canadian design company OMsignal for Ralph Lauren. From a technical perspective, the wearable tech T-shirt loads a battery of sensors that measure several parameters: heart rate, respiration, moisture level and skin temperature, humidity and outdoor temperature, number of steps taken and physical activity monitoring. From these data, the sensors embedded in the fabric determine the calories burned by the wearer’s, can define its level of effort and, more remarkably (or scarily) its emotional state (stressed, relaxed …).
The Ralph Lauren Polo Tech will be available for the public in Spring 2015. To know more about Polo Tech, click here to consult Ralph Lauren website.
