How to simplify the sourcing of a couture collection ?

As part of its reflection on the future of the luxe and fashion industry, The FashionLab is currently working on the development of an application in order to simplify the sourcing activity of a Fashion House. This is a key moment during the conception of a new collection, as the existing sourcing solutions don’t answer to the whole need.

Up to now traditional, data collection is often tedious during this kind of exercise: tens of suppliers to meet, hundreds of orders to make, while managing the budget and investigating new fabrics that correspond to the collection. The Dassault Systèmes solution allows to gather all the information on a simple interface, available on cloud and in real time on a mobile computer, tablet or cellphone.

A successful prototype App

Working closely with the Fashion designer Julien Fournié, the FashionLab was able to develop and try ‘on live’ the new prototype application during Première Vision, the international fabric & apparel trade show last september 2014 in Paris. The prototype application was connected via 4G. It fulfilled all the requirements and it satisfied the fashion Designer Julien Fournié!
