The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, held in Beijing in May 2017, reaffirmed China’s commitment to promoting the integration of land, sea, air, and the Internet. While promoting metropolitan area development, the “Belt and Road” strategy also focuses heavily on infrastructure development. In this context, Dassault Systèmes is continually improving upon its “3DEXPERIENCE” solutions platform, and is striving to support data integration and coordination across the lifetime of infrastructure projects using 3D data simulation technology and BIM management platforms. This helps companies in design, construction, operation, and other project phases reap the benefits of digital technology.

Dassault Systèmes Vice President Marty Doscher shared insights on the company’s new development trends in construction engineering around the globe.

Mr. Deng Tingfa, director of BIM and construction engineer at the Taiwan-based EPC firm Sinotech Engineering Consultants, Ltd., shared a case study on the Danjiang bridge project.

Mr. Yang Dongsheng, director at the Power Construction Corporation of China’s Northwest Survey Design Institute Digital Engineering Center, described how his company coordinated designs of the Delsi-Tanisagua hydropower project in Ecuador using 3D design software.

Mr. Guo Zheliang, engineer at the Zhejiang Provincial Transportation Planning and Design Institute, shared his experience using BIM software during the design of the Hangzhou North Ringroad – Tianmushan Underpass project. He described how Dassault Systèmes “3DEXPERIENCE” platform enabled the pilot project design to be completed from scratch in only six months.
