Hello dear 3D Perspectives readers and bloggers,

For those of you who prefer to read I am convinced this TVnima series will change your opinion, and hopefully all of you will have fun watching it.

I am happy to introduce a series of short overviews on sustainable city and territory management. This new domain is currently a very active topic in our Dassault Systèmes Industry R&D labs.

During this series I will be sharing with you some of the key projects we are currently working on.  Here’s the first TVnima of this 3D City Management series:

I told you, it is a fascinating domain.

There are many usages and online services to invent to address our environmental challenges.

In my next posts, I will illustrate some of the services delivered by our collaborative city management platform.

I invite you to comment on this post and tell me what you would like to see in such a platform for your own city.

Unleash the power of your imagination, think 3D, online and of course…planet friendly.

See you soon!

Bruno

    Hi Bruno,
I think this is a domain that open us a lot of possibilities.
As an ex geography student, I can see a lot of applications in Urban geography teaching.
We could imagine that such application could be used during urban geography classes. When I was a student, we learned the main theories with books. Having these theories explained visually would be really great and it will give the wish to all students to use our solutions. I still have some contacts with the Geography section in La Sorbonne (PARIS 1). May be we could do something?

    Etienne,
You are right to say that these technologies will change the way we learn how to build and manage cities. It would be very interesting to exchange ideas with the University profesors and students and understand what problems it will solve. I would be sepcially interested to identify the new service proposal that could emerge from these technologies. We would be ready to create the framework to develop them if they are real and contribute to a better planet. Let’s get in touch !

    Hi,
I’ve just started a PhD looking at creating similar systems, I’d be very interested in find out more about this project – how can i get in touch? – my e-mail is on my website http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~db805/

    Thanks

    Bruno,
this is a very interesting topic and i am looking forward to see more about it.
I can imagine a lot of services around it and not only to study the impact of a new building or a new Master Plan on a city but also to study the impact of in-progress or soon to be started new construction. Especially if those condition are already model in 3D we could be simulat and the impact of the construction on tracfic, noise, polution..etc.
Bruno, please contact me at frederic.herbere@stantec.com i would like to know more about the direction that 3DS is taking on this subject.

    thank you!
